چکیده

A retrospective, single-center review from January 2017 to August 2020. Of 91 patients with acute nonarteritic central retinal artery occlusion, >50% ipsilateral internal carotid (ICA) stenosis was present in about one quarter of patients. Approximately 30% who had been receiving at-home antiplatelet therapy or anticoagulation at symptom onset were treated an increase dosage, and 80% not anticoagulant these drugs. the received specific medical treatment, such as ocular massage, anterior chamber paracentesis, acetazolamide, a combination, 50% experienced improved visual outcomes contrast 29% no treatment. Patients occlusion treatment demonstrated acuity compared those without

Periarteriolar-Sparing Retinal Edema in Acute Central Retinal Artery Occlusion.

A 56-year-old man was referred to our hospital about 48 h after sudden onset of painless central visual loss in his right eye (OD) on a winter morning. He had a more than 25-year history of systemic hypertension and smoking. Funduscopic observation showed striated retinal whitening in the macular region, faint cotton-wool patches around the optic disc, and segmental narrowing of the retinal art...

Central Retinal Artery Occlusion Masquerading as Branch Retinal Artery Occlusion

Dear Editor, Retinal artery occlusion (RAO) is characterized by attenuated arterioles and ischemic retinal opacity, which suggest retinal infarction. Branch RAO (BRAO) has a more favorable prognosis than central RAO (CRAO). CRAO and BRAO can be differentiated based on the isch-emic retinal opacity area, location of the attenuated vessels , and a cherry-red spot [1]. However, we encountered a ca...

Sulfur Mustard Exposure and Non-Ischemic Central Retinal Vein Occlusion

A 41-year-old man was referred with a complaint of visual loss in his left eye and his best corrected visual acuity was 20/80. Slit lamp examination showed arborizing conjunctival vessels and dry eye. Fundus examination and fluorescein angiography revealed a non-ischemic central retinal vein occlusion. Cardiovascular, rheumatologic, and hematologic work up showed no abnormal findings. An ascert...

Ocular neovascularization in eyes with a central retinal artery occlusion or a branch retinal artery occlusion

PURPOSE To investigate the ocular neovascularization (ONV) rate in eyes with a branch retinal artery occlusion (BRAO) or a central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO), and to study factors that may influence the ONV rate secondary to CRAO. METHODS This was a retrospective case series of consecutive patients (286 total eyes: 83 CRAOs and 203 BRAOs) who were diagnosed with a retinal artery occlusio...

Selective Intra-Arterial Fibrinolysis of Acute Central Retinal Artery Occlusion

Background and Purpose—Occlusion of the central retinal artery (CRAO) causes a sudden decrease of monocular vision. Because early restoration of blood flow may improve outcome, we attempted to treat CRAO with selective intra-arterial fibrinolysis. Methods—Intra-arterial fibrinolysis was performed within 6 hours after symptom onset in 17 patients with thromboembolic CRAO. Symptoms were painless,...
